The quest starts with an old man telling you to investigate the Blue Flame Door in a swamp. The Wise Old Man in question is at the Goblin Castle in Northern Bramblemead Valley. He will trigger the quest marker to the swamp too.
Make sure to be fully prepared, as this investigation is not an easy task for sure. The Old Ma will also ask you to check what Cathan is up to.
The Blue Flame Door is located in the Whispering Swamp region and serves as an entrance to a vault, which we need to investigate.
- Go to the easternmost island.
- In the middle of the swamp water, you will see a large tree.
- Approach the tree, and you will find the Blue Flame Door behind this tree.
- Enter it and locate Cathan and check what he is up to.
Where to Find Cathan?
Now that you are in the door, your goal is to investigate the inside and check up on Cathan. You will come across a locked room. Explore the vault carefully, and you will find another locked room.
Keep exploring the vault, and you will find a lever to open this door. Be careful, as many kinds of dangerous enemies await you. Make sure to go after Vault Guardian bosses as they can drop Vault Cores.
After some exploration, you will come across an area filled with water at the base. You won’t be there alone, as some enemies will be there waiting for you. After killing them, follow the lit path on your right.
You are now at the top. Take a left, then turn around, and you will find a torch as well as some stairs beside it. Follow it and it will take you to a lever.
IMPORTANT: Inside the vault there is a goblin next to the lever. If you don’t speak with it before leaving the quest will break.
You will also encounter a near-death goblin. He will tell you about Cathan’s whereabouts. Inside you can get 3x Vault Cores, Clay, Runes, Rune Essence, and Vault Shards.
Your work here has finished, and you may return to the old man who is back at the Bramblemead Valley.
