After spending a ton of time in Fantasy Life i most players still go wondering what to do with the Purple Seals. Don’t worry, you’re not the only one thinking how to open up these seals which for most of the game make no sense.
Purple Seals are found on blocked off paths and there is no way to access them, at least not until you reach a certain point in the game. And that point? Is the end game. To unlock the seals you first need to complete the game’s story mode and then, follow the instructions I’m sharing below.
How to Unlock / List Seals in Dungeons in Fantasy Life i
As I mentioned earlier, you need to complete the main story to even begin lifting the Purple Seals in Fantasy Life i. Once the story mode is complete you’ll enter the end game mode.
You spawn in your Base Camp after the credits roll. Speak with Trip who explains information about a Stone Plate he got from the final boss you defeated.
On a side note, collect all Celestia’s Gifts that spawn on in the Base Camp. There is a high chance of getting Golden Celestia’s Gifts to unlock Yuelia.

Next step is to head inside the Guild Office where you speak with Edward. After a discussion about the Stone Slate where Edwards explains that there are slates for you to collect.
But the slate Trip collected has a Dark Power for something called Dark Fire. This is the key to lifting the Purple Seals in Fantasy Life i. You need to collect Dark Fire from Shadow Monsters.
Dark Fire can then be used to lift Purple Seals wherever you see them in the game. But how many Dark Fires you need depends on the Purple Seal location.
Approach a purple seal and press the use button. A prompt will display the required amount of Dark Fire to unlock it. The required amounts vary by location:
- Banaan Cave: 5 Dark Fires
- Quetzal Nest: 10 Dark Fires
- Lulab Forest, Yohoho Cavern, Cave of Trials B1, Spirit Road, The Depths B1: 30 Dark Fires each
- Warren Willow Hollow B1: 50 Dark Fires
How to Get Dark Fire to Lift Purple Seals in Fantasy Life i
Dark Fire is a rare drop from Shadow Monsters, which appear in the post-game. The best farming locations for Dark Fire include:
- Treasure Grove Monster Rooms: High spawn rates for Shadow Monsters.
- Fort Gardhart: Accessible earlier in the game but offers lower drop rates.
After collecting 50 Golden Celestia’s Gifts and giving them to Flutter, Yuelia becomes available as a party member. At max affinity, she increases item drop rates by 10%. Also invest in unlocking Item Drop Rate+ Skills.
