Tools in Dune Awakening are of two types; you can find them in the open world and then craft them. Crafting tools like the Blood Purifier is tied to the story progression. To get started you need to complete the “Water from Blood” main quest.
This is a three part mission where you collect resources like Metal, Plant Fiber, and Basic Exsanguination kit. And then you get the Blood Purifier Schematic.
How to Unlock the Blood Purifier Schematic in Dune Awakening

First things first, you have to work your way through the “Water from Blood” main quest; it’s a early step you can’t skip. The three parts of the mission ask you to collect Salvage Metal and Plant Fiber to start, then it unlocks the Basic Exsanguination Kit with the Improvised Blood Extractor and Blood Sacks, and finally, when you finish, you earn the handy Blood Purifier blueprint.
If you haven’t reached the “Water from Blood” quest then keep playing the main story until the mission is available.
How to Build the Blood Purifier in Dune Awakening

After you grab that blueprint, go to your base’s Research tab and unlock the Blood Purifier under Placeables → Refineries. When research wraps up, pick up the Construction Tool, slide over to “Refineries,” and place the purifier somewhere in your base.
It needs 70 Salvaged Metal to craft, and remember to set it down close to your Sub-Fief Console; anything farther away-including beyond outer walls-will keep it from working.
Once the purifier is up, it’s time to gather blood. Equip the Improvised Blood Extractor from the Basic Exsanguination Kit along with an empty Blood Sack.
Walk up to a fallen enemy until the prompt pops up, then drain their blood. A small sack fills after you take from about three corpses, and you can carry extra sacks so you don’t have to keep running back and forth from the fight.
Converting Blood into Water in Dune Awakening
To start converting Blood into Water, go back to your base and interact with the Blood Purifier. Deposit the Blood Sacks into the machine and it’ll begin converting Blood to Water. It takes a few minutes to complete the process depending on how much Blood is deposited into the machine.
Make sure the remains turned on until the Blood Purifier completes its process. Connect it to a Fuel Generator and have enough fuel cells to keep the Purifier functioning.
The Blood Purifier is great, but it works best when you use it with other ways of getting water. At the start, things like stillsuits and dew collectors add extra support and keep your supply steady. Once you can, focus on building windtraps or deathstills because these passive setups give you hassle-free drinks with almost no upkeep. By mixing water earned in fights with these low-tech farms, you’ll stay hydrated even on the longest trips.
