Did you know you can make Pokemon obey you in Pokemon Legends Z-A? But there is some grind required for it. You have to increase your character rank to make sure your Pokemon never disobey you.
If your Pokémon in Pokémon Legends: Z-A keeps ignoring your commands or “loafing around,” you’re not alone. Unlike older games where obedience depended on Gym Badges, Z-A introduces a new system tied to your trainer rank in the Z-A Royale.
Disobedience happens when your trainer rank is less than the Pokemon you have. Your cap is directly linked to your trainer rank, not friendship or badges.
If you catch or trade a Pokémon that’s above your rank’s limit, it may:
- Ignore attack commands
- Use random moves or do nothing
- Fall asleep mid-battle
- Even hurt itself from confusion
The higher the level gap between your Pokémon and your cap, the worse the disobedience becomes. You can check your obedience cap by opening the Save screen the current max obedience level appears there.
