Dark world fantasy games like Tainted Grail: The Fall of Avalon test players at various levels. They have to make different choices, upgrade weapons and gear, and make critical decisions to make the world a better place.
In Tainted Grail: The Fall of Avalon, players are rewarded with various materials that are gathered from chests or as drops from enemies. However, you can also gather resources like iron, copper, and titanium through mining.
To do mining in Tainted Grail: The Fall of Avalon, you need to have a Pickaxe, that you can get after completing the Island Asylum chapter.
If you want to know how to mine in Tainted Grail: The Fall of Avalon, you are at the right place. We will discuss everything you need to know about this useful activity in the game.
Pickaxe Location in Tainted Grail: The Fall of Avalon
After you are done with the Island Asylum chapter in the game, you can get your first Pickaxe. There are two ways to acquire your Pickaxe.
You can get it for free right after you arrive at Avalon’s shores. Simply keep walking on the road until you find two roads. On your right-hand side, you will find an old and huge statue of King Arthur in a very bad shape. A man named Horst will be mining there and will have an extra Pickaxe in a cart near to him. Pick it up and walk away. There is no conversation or fight here, as this is an in-game sequence.

The other Pickaxe is not free. You can purchase it by paying 16 Gold at a shop located right next to the entrance of the Keeper’s Fortress. You can get this Pickaxe from a vendor that goes by the name of Orlaith.
Furthermore, you only need one Pickaxe to start mining, and I would advise you to keep only one Pickaxe in your stash, as you might need to let go of a weapon if you are overencumbered (too heavy to walk). Plus, you don’t need to equip a Pickaxe to start mining. Mining will start automatically when you initiate the command.
How to Mine in Tainted Grail: The Fall of Avalon

The mining is an easy process. All you have to do is press E if you are playing on PC. For controller, use X/A. In order to mine the node fully, press the button three times in a row.
Where to Find Ore Veins in Tainted Grail: The Fall of Avalon
There are plenty of locations on the map where you can do mining. They are spread inside dungeons, outside cities and fortresses, and in particular mines for each ore. Once you are near a vein of any kind, you will receive a prompt, and pressing the required buttons will start the mining process.
Starting the mining process automatically equips the Pickaxe. I would suggest that you change back to your old weapons; otherwise, you will be sitting ducks against monsters and enemies.
Here are the different ore types in Tainted Grail: The Fall of Avalon that you can mine.
#1: Copper Ore
The copper ore veins have green stones in them, and you can find them at the Shores of Avalon, Sunken Village, and Abandoned Stronghold. It is the most common type of ore you will find in Act 1.
#2: Iron Ore
Found commonly in Act 1, these veins have pink stones, and you can locate them easily at The Shores of Avalon, Sunken Village, and Smuggler’s Bay.
#3: Meteorite Ore
They are identified by pitch black and grain stones. The common locations include Wreck of Andraste, Smuggler’s Bay, and Forgotten Cemetery. They are quite rare in Act 1, so make sure you don’t let them go.
#4: Wyrdstone Ore
The veins of Wyrdstone ore are easily recognizable by their glowing white and blue stones. Players can mine them at places like Archspire, Blood Cave, and the Tomb of the Good Druid.
#5: Titanium Ore
With red stones, these veins are hard to miss. You can mine titanium ore at Mountains near the Ancient Cromlech and Smuggler’s Bay.
Why is Mining Useful in Tainted Grail: The Fall of Avalon?
Ores are extremely useful in crafting weapons and gear as you proceed in the game. After you reach Keeper’s Fortress, the forge is unlocked, and after you can start using the crafting table, mining will become a crucial activity in the game.
