Shadows in Bloom is one of the early Lost Chapter Quests in Where Winds Meet, which requires you to solve a Songstress Test. The puzzle involves playing a song “Dep Longing”. Music will be played, and then play the song by beating the drums in the right sequence. Well, if you don’t have that much high-level knowledge in music decoding, you might struggle to solve the puzzle. So here’s how you can solve the Songstress Bai Rong puzzle quickly.

Songstress Test Puzzle solution in Where Winds Meet
First, start the puzzle by talking to Nine Mortal Ways Disciple in Kaifeng city, who tells you about the Water Lady. After the cutscene, just follow him in Seclusion, and he will tell you how you can enter the heroic assembly.
After you are disguised as Master Juang Yi, talk to the Revelry Hall Manager to enter the assembly hall, and two dialogue boxes will appear from which you have to choose:
- Pretend to be a VIP guest of the Heroes of the Assembly
- Pretend to be Jiang Yi, the musical prodigy
By selecting the latter one, you will be asked to prove yourself as Master Jiang Yi to Bai Rong and tune a guqin for her.
She will first sing the melody and then ask you to play it using the drums. The drum needs to be played in the right sequence to prove that you are Master Jiang Yi. This will allow you to enter the heroes’ assembly. The only hint for the Songstress puzzle that she will give you is

Then, play the drums in the following sequence(from left to right) to solve the Songstress Bai Rong Puzzle
- Interact with the fourth drum (Zhi).
- Now play the fifth drum (Yu).
- Interact with the first drum (Gong).
- Then, the third drum (Jue).
- And lastly, with the second drum (Shang).
After playing the drums in the right sequence, speak with Bai Rong again, and she will give you her Peach Blossom boat to take to the Heroic assembly.
