Monster Hunter Wilds has plenty of monsters and while most of the game centers around them, not everything is all monsters.
Capcom developers have introduced a new activity called “Investigations.” You can create your custom investigations to target specific monsters alongside your friends in Monster Hunter Wilds.
How to Create Investigations
To start creating investigations, open the map and look for monster icons. Interact with the monster you want and you will see the “Save as Investigation” option.
Using this option you can spend Guild Points to create an investigation. How many Guild Points you need depend on the rarity of the monster.
Next step is to speak to Alma (camp receptionist) → Post/Join Quest → Investigations to launch saved hunts.
Each Investigation you create can be played 3 times before expiring. Moreover, Guild Point costs scale with target difficulty (e.g., 200 GP for Low Rank, 1,000+ GP for Tempered monsters).
Lastly, investigations are the only quest type playable in crossplay-linked sessions.
