Running on Unreal Engine 5, Metal Gear Solid: Snake Eater is an action-adventure stealth game that is a remaster of the classic PS2 title.
Like any other Unreal Engine 5 game, this one also has its issues, one of which is that the game is locked at 60 FPS, even on PC. For many like me who want to push the games as far as possible on PC, a 60FPS cap is unacceptable. So what to do here? Well, there is an easy solution but only if you know how to mod the game.
Removing the 60 FPS Cap in Metal Gear Solid Delta Snake Eater
To address the 60 FPS cap issue, Lyall from the modding community comes in clutch as always with a patch that removes the 60 FPS cap in Metal Gear Solid Delta Snake Eater.
The patch provides ultrawide support to the game, giving you a smoother experience. It also skips the intro videos. Here’s how to install the patch:
- Go to this link and download the latest zip file.
- Extract the file you just installed into the following location:
steamapps\common\MGSDelta\Binaries\Win64 or steamapps\common\MGSDelta\MGSDelta\Binaries\Win64
- Open the zip file (MGSDeltaFix.ini) in a text editor like Notepad or Notepad++.
- Under the “Uncap Framerate” option, change the value of Enabled to true.
- Save the configuration file and exit.

You can now play Metal Gear Solid Delta Snake Eater at an unlocked framerate.
This patch can also cause some unknown glitches or bugs. If you are experiencing any issues, follow the steps above and set the value back to false.
If you want smoother visuals, and you understand the risks above, read the mod author’s release page and README thoroughly, use conservative FPS targets at first (90–120), and keep backups so you can revert if you run into issues.
