In Assassin’s Creed Shadows, having a wanted status on your head increases the difficulty of the game depending on the level of Wanted status that a player has as the guards become more aggressive and the enemies known as “Guardians” are sent after the player.

This status is usually triggered when enemies sound alarm bells especially when infiltrating castles.

There are two locations; castles and enemy bases that should be attacked without alerting the guards if you want to avoid a Wanted status.

This can be done by using tools or ranged weapons to disable the alarm systems from a distance to prevent the guards from being alerted.

How to Get Rid of the Wanted Status

Here are the three ways you can remove wanted status in Assassin’s Creed Shadows:

Method #1: Use Scouts

A more direct way is to send scouts to eliminate regional alerts. To do this, develop the Kakurega structure in your hideout to level 2, which allows you to use scouts for this purpose.

At the cost of two scouts each, they can be called in. You can do this by going to the map, selecting the area you want to clear and then using the option to send in the scouts to clear the wanted status.

Upgrade your Kakurega at the Hideout to Level 2. This costs 580 Crops, 440 Wood and 150 Minerals.

When upgraded, you can use scouts to sweep regional alerts. Two scouts are needed to clear the wanted status of each region. Should you run out of scouts, you can obtain more from any Kakurega safehouse for the price of 200 Mon per scout.

You can increase the amount of available Scout slots as you upgrade the Kakurega at the hideout.

Method #2: Change Characters

This is because the Wanted status is tied to the character, so you can avoid detection for the time being by switching to the other protagonist.

However, be careful, since Guardians may pose a threat no matter which character is controlled.

Method #3: Wait for Season Change

The Wanted status is cleared at the beginning of every season. If you can, you could spend your time doing other things and the season will change and remove the status.

The wanted statuses are reset every time there is a change of season. This method is passive but it does require about 60 minutes of gameplay for a new season to start.

You can also change season manually but you need to wait till the season meter on the World map is full. Hold down the right D-pad to change the season manually.

That’s everything you need to know on how to get rid of your wanted status in AC Shadows.
