Assassin’s Creed Shadows has plenty of romance choices for both Naoe and Yasuke. The first one for Naoe is Gennojo and comes during the Meeting Quest of Lost Honor.
While playing as Naoe, you will first meet Gennojo when you assassinate the Fool, but you will not get the opportunity to romance him. It comes after some time during your adventure.
AC Shadows Gennojo Romance Choices for Naoe
The first encounter with Gennojo happens in the Missing Missive quest. This is a casual meeting so there is no way to flirt toward a possible romance.
The romance options for Gennojo become available starting Lost Honor and then there are 4 more quests before the “deed” happens.

Sake and Swords Part 1 and 2
Assassin’s Creed Shadows Gennojo romance properly kicks off in the Sake and Swords quest. It is a two part quest. There is a section before the battle takes place and then there is another section after the battle.
Before the fight, pick the dialogue option “Depends what you’re offering” when speaking with Gennojo. After the battle, choose “Show me, thief” option when speaking with Gennojo.
Honor Among Thieves
The second quest for this romance takes place in Kyoto. Gennojo is looking for a scroll in Kubo Sama Old Residence. When you find the scroll, hand it over to Gennojo and select the dialogue option “I’m keeping it then.”
When you say this to him you also meet the one requirement to get Gennojo to join you later.
Stolen Hearts
Stolen Hearts is the final quest that complete the Gennojo romance in Assassin’s Creed Shadows. The quest starts at Kiyomizudera in southeastern Kyoto. The mission is to rescue Gennojo and when you free him, say “I’m here for you.”
Gennojo Romance Scene
The final step is to say “I’d like to embrace you” when you Gennojo is done telling Naoe more about his past. The romance scene is brief and after that you will often see Gennojo at the Hideout in Assassin’s Creed Shadows.
Naoe and Gennojo can engage in conversations at the Hideout but there is only one romance scene between them.
