Whether you are building a town, town center, or any other building in Age of Mythology Retold, you’ll need to rotate them every now and then which is an important part of placing down buildings in the game.
Rotating building is mostly used to fit the structures into certain areas. Here’s how you can rotate buildings in Age of Mythology Retold.
How To Rotate Buildings in AoM ReTold
Tap on the building you want to rotate. This could be any structure that can rotate, be it Town Centers, Barracks, or military/economy buildings.
When the building is selected, hold the Shift button on keyboard (LT + Right Stick on console). Hold Shift and scroll the mouse wheel up or down. This will rotate the building 90 degrees either clockwise or counter-clockwise.

After rotating, click to place the building in the desired orientation. Also, make sure that the location is valid for building placement.
When rotating buildings, think about the layout of your base and how the building’s orientation will affect unit movement and resource gathering.
Moreover, you can’t rotate buildings while there is an active conflict happening.
Though you may certainly use the standard controls (Shift + mouse scroll on PC or LT + right stick on Xbox) to rotate and place new defensive structures (i.e. walls, towers) mid-battle, once existing buildings are built they cannot be turned.
