Throughout Mio: Memories in Orbit we get to upgrade our character with help from Mel. However, there comes a point in the game when Mel is taken and it is up to you to save her. Getting Mel back is the only way to start upgrading your gear and character again in Mio: Memories in Orbit.
Mel being taken isn’t the most ideal situation and while you can play parts of the game without needing her, getting Mel back is the best way forward for if you don’t want to get hammard.
To get Mel back in Mio: Memories in Orbit you need to head to Redacted area and save her from a boss called Debby. Thankfully, Debby is an easy boss fight.
Where to Find Mel
To reach mel in MIO Memories in Orbit travel to the Vault Spawn Point and keep going left without entering any tubes. You need to reach the room that has an open drawer and some creepy robot legs in the background.
The door is the hidden entrance to reach Mel in the secret area. The secret path leads to a flooded zone blocked by Gloomwater. You need to activate all four pumps to drain it.
After draining the first pump the tube on the left will be accessible.
First Pump
The first pump can be seen right as you enter the secret area. It’s along the initial path and activating it opens a tube you can jump in.
Second Pump
Continue through tubes until you reach a large room with a broken robot (grab the Old Core here if available). Inside this room you can find the second Gloomwater Pump.
Third Pump
Stay on this path after dropping into the room and you will find the third Gloomwater Pump. Turn it on to clear the Gloomwater and keep going right.
Fourth Pump
When you reach the next room drop down between floor. Go down to the Gloomwater and use the Striders to climb the metal grates until you find the pump.
Now we need to go back to the top section and go right to reach the pipes. There should be a tube to your left but head right and stay on the past, going past the razor blades to reach the Overseer.
Fix the Overseer to reach the Crucible.
Jump into the tube you see in the image above to reach Debby, the boss who’s taking Mel hostage in Mio. Beat the boss and Mel is free to return to open her shop for you. From there you can continue upgrading in Mio.
In addition to Mel’s shop reopening you also get a MOD: Gratitude.
Restores an extra layer of protection (non-stackable) when Mio stays on the ground for a short time
