In Stalker 2: Heart of Chornobyl, some weapons don’t last too long. There is a wear and tear mechanic that breaks down weapons over time. So, what do with broken weapons in Stalker 2?
You can sell them and make a quick buck. This is the way because although you can keep using weapons, they will end up jamming frequently and eventually won’t work at all when completely broken down.
To avoid breaking weapon you need to visit fewer irradiated areas but in Stalker 2 that is not possible to do. Mission, story, loot, everything will lead you to irradiated areas.
The next question is where to sell these weapons?
How and Where to Sell Broken Weapons in Stalker 2
The weapons are sold to a vendor named Ragman. You can find him in Rostok, a location you can find in the west from Slag Heap.
The best way to make a profit from broken weapons (weapons with the red icon them) is to collect them as much as you can by looting dead bodies in normal and irradiated areas.
Ragman doesn’t pay much for each weapon you sell but when sold in bulk you can really make a profit.
Although Ragman pays low per item, selling in bulk creates a steady income stream. Mass‑collect and mass‑sell red‑durability weapons—makes the low payouts worth it. Always unload ammo to boost margins and lighten loadouts.
Vendor Ragman’s Location
To reach Ragman you need to follow POIs in Stalker 2. Head west from the Slag Heap to find Shah’s hideout point of interest. If you have played King of the Hill mission, then you may have already visited this location to kill Shah or Roosevelt.
Keep heading west to reach Rostok where Ragman and other vendors are located.
Note: During some areas, including Rostok I experience crashes on PC. If that happens to you too, try these fixes or update your DLSS manually.
Use fast travel via the Guide named Toad in Rostok to quickly return and offload your broken weapons regularly.

Repairing Vs. Selling Broken Weapons
Weapons that are marked with a red shield icon are considered fully broken and cannot be sold. These weapons need to be repaired first if you want to use or sell them. However, repairing them often costs more than what you would earn from selling them, making this option inefficient.
If you have weapons that are damaged but not fully broken (indicated by a yellow shield icon), you can sell these to Ragman for some cash. While the payout for damaged weapons is lower than for fully functional ones, it is still a viable option to earn some in-game currency.
Do not repair broken weapons just to sell them. Repairing costs more than the weapon’s sale price, resulting in a net loss.
