Want to know how to vehicles in Dune Awakening? There is only one method that lets you do this and it involves crafting the Vehicle Backup Tool.
This tool requires a schematic to craft, and then you can use it to safely store and restore vehicles like the Sandbike and Scout Ornithopter. With sandstorms, sandworms, and PvP threats always looming, simply leaving your ride in the open can be a costly mistake. In this guide, we will go through everything you need to know on how to get yourself the Vehicle Backup Tool and then use it to store and restore vehicles.
How to Store and Restore Vehicles
Before you can start storing and restoring vehicles in Dune Awakening, you have to unlock the Vehicle Backup Tool. You’ll do this by researching it under the Copper Products tab in the Research menu. Once the research is complete, swing by any General Fabricator to craft one up.
Crafting the tool costs 6x Copper Ingots and 2x Particle Capacitors. Particle Capacitors, also called Capacitor Shards, show up during exploration or when you do salvage missions.
After you build the Vehicle Backup Tool, go to your inventory and equip it. Remember, you can only store vehicles that are small enough and totally empty which means nothing in the cargo.
Point the tool at the vehicle you want to store. If everything checks out, a green light will pop up. Pull the trigger, and the vehicle disappears into your stash. Keep in mind that you can hold only one vehicle this way, no matter how many Backup Tools you have.
Trying to back up another will erase the first one.
Right now, the Backup Tool works with the Sandbike and Scout Ornithopter. These light rides are perfect for zipping across the desert when you need speed. Bigger wheels, like the Buggy, Assault Ornithopter, Carrier Ornithopter, and Sandcrawler, can’t go into storage using the backup tool.
To restore a saved vehicle, pull out the Tool again and find an open, flat spot. When the green hologram pops up, hit the activation button and it will reappear.
Keep in mind that restoration can lag for a few seconds, especially when the server stutters. Certain zones, especially PvP areas, may also block deployment. So be patient and double-check that you’re not in a hotspot where the restore won’t work.
