Assassin’s Creed Shadows offers many customization options and one of them is being able to change your look through transmog. With so many armors and weapons available, you will want to change the appearance of your character at the beginning of the game.

You can’t transmog your character right after you start the game, but it isn’t going to take long until you can. Just like in other Assassin’s Creed games, transmog is available in AC Shadows, and you can use it to change the appearance of both Naoe and Yasuke.

Transmog is not a new concept in the Assassin’s Creed franchise. Assassin Creed Valhalla also included this feature but it was released after the launch of the game and was linked with the in-game currency. But in AC Shadows, the capability to transmogrify is completely free.

This is how you can transmog in Assassin’s Creed Shadows.

How to Transmog in Assassin’s Creed Shadows?

When you begin your AC Shadows run, you will be getting your hands on some low-level equipment like hats and swords that are better than what you are currently wielding. However, they may not be very attractive or to your taste and this is where the ability to transmog comes in handy.

However, you cannot transmog yet, so you will have to unlock the ability to do so. You can do this by getting the Blacksmith as your ally and then constructing a Forge in your Hideout. When this condition is fulfilled, then you can transmog in a rather simple manner.

Go to the Inventory section and select the part that you want to modify the look of. Tap on the Customize button or the Y/Triangle on the lower right corner of the screen.

Here you will be able to choose what appearance you would like to use and how to apply it to the current equipment.

The best thing about all of this is that the stats of the weapon or gear will not change when you change the appearance of it. This means that you can actually use the same weapon throughout the entire game and have its stats upgraded as you level up.

One more thing that is worth knowing about the transmog system in Assassin’s Creed Shadows is that you must obtain at least two items of equipment from a particular category.

One more interesting feature of Transmogrification in Assassin’s Creed Shadows is that when changing the appearance of hats or robes, you can make them look exactly like the other one.

In the case of weapons, you can customize the different elements as well, and pick the best from the available weapons. When customizing a Katana, you can change the blade, handle, guard, and saya only.

Or, you can also hide your helmet or gear in AC shadows if you do not like its appearance. Just press the Hide Gear button and it will be hidden.

How to Get Blacksmith in Assassin’s Creed Shadows?

As mentioned earlier, you need to get Blacksmith to transmog and for that you will have to finish the “Way of the Blacksmith” quest which is a part of the “The League” plot.

However, even for this, you first need to get the Hideout at Tomiko’s place and finish Tomiko’s first mission, which is the “Way of the Blacksmith.”

Now get Heiji and build the Forge at the Hideout. All of this happens quite early in the game, so you won’t have to wait for long to be able to transmogrify in Assassin’s Creed Shadows.
