Trapping and taming animals is one thing, you then have to transport hem back to your base in Soulmask. It isn’t as simple as it sounds because some animals can not be carried back to your base. Only small, juvenile animals can be picked up and carried while adults need a method of transport to be taken back to your base in Soulmask.

For example, baby turkeys, capybaras, panther cubs, and other small creatures can be moved; adults will not respond to pickup commands.

When capturing a juvenile, pick it up manually (E key) and carry it in your hands. This method is simple but slows your movement and limits mobility—especially when relocating over long distances.

Method #1: Using the Llama with Basket Attachment

One approach is to tame a llama and outfitting it with a wicker basket saddle. Llamas can be captured with medium traps and tamed to serve as mounts. The basket allows transportation of up to four baby animals at once.

The llama’s hauling capability is between 800 and 1100 units which means he can carry juveniles and other supplies. While llamas may be slower than alpacas, they are still very useful when large scale transport is needed.

While llamas teleport when mounted, their baskets do not teleport, so it’s crucial to re-equip the basket after teleporting.

If you are carrying baby animals in baskets, they may lose access to food and water unless you place these resources in their inventory. Otherwise, there is a risk of starvation.

Lastly, captured baby animals and llamas are safe from attacks and aggression, so there are no threats to deal with, even in hostile areas while transporting.

Method #2: Portable Pens and Portals

Another method is to set up makeshift shelters or Portable Pens beside the catching area, along with campfires and food, to take care of young animals until they grow up.

Once the animals have matured, you can ride an adult mount or use portals to teleport between bases. Although portals only teleport the player, the tamed mount as well as juvenile animals will follow after reaching the teleportation point. This saves a lot of time and is the best approach in my opinion.

That’s pretty much how transporting animals work in Soulmask.
