Not everyone likes that annoying sound Asus throws in your face when booting up ROG Ally. It is not the best, but the good news is that you can turn it off easily. Turning the boot up sound is especially useful when gaming at night and your partner can’t know.

While the startup chime adds flair, it isn’t always welcome. It is especially annoying is you are gaming on the go, in public spaces without headphones or booting up late at night.

Disable Boot Up Sound on Asus ROG Ally

First thing you need to do is turn off the Asus ROG Ally handheld completely. Once that is done, you need to access the BIOS.

Turn the device back on but press and hold the Volume Down button on your Ally to enter the BIOS. If that doesn’t work, shut the handheld again and this time turn it on but spam the volume down button.

Once you’re inside the BIOS, press the Y key to toggle into Advanced Mode. If you’re using the touch controls or D-pad, navigate to the Advanced tab manually. This will give you access to additional configuration options in the BIOS, including the Boot Up settings for Asus ROG Ally.

Inside the Advanced section, look for a setting labeled “Animation Post Logo Configuration.” Select it, and you’ll find an option for “Startup Audio.” This is where you control the boot-up sound.

Change the setting from Enabled to Disabled to turn off start up sound on your Asus ROG Ally.

To apply the change, press F10 or navigate to the Save and Exit tab, then confirm when prompted. Your ROG Ally will now reboot silently, no more loud chime when powering on.

Disabling the boot-up sound on your ROG Ally makes startup more discreet and less disruptive.
