Cooking recipes aren’t the only way to get buffs, you can do it with companions as well.

Avowed companions (Kai, Marius, Giatta and Yatzli) join your party by completing certain main quests. Once recruited, they become available for training when you are a bit ahead in the story.

You’ll visit party camps where you’ll be able to chat with your companions. If the companion’s personal storyline has progressed enough, they will start a training conversation.

In these dialogues, each companion provides three training choices:

  • One option grants a +2 bonus to one core stat (for example, Kai can offer either +2 Constitution or +2 Might)
  • Another option provides +1 bonus to two different stats. Your choice will permanently boost your character’s attributes

The ability to train companions may not show up right away or may seem delayed until you enter a new zone or progress in the game further. If you do, try traveling back to a party camp or progressing on main and side missions.
