In Hogwarts Legacy, to progress in the game, unlocking different spells is crucial for making your combat easy, and it even helps you in solving other puzzles. You will unlock Levioso during the “Defense Against Dark Arts Class” quest after meeting Professor Dina Hecat.

Wingardium Leviosa and Levioso are two different spells belonging to different quest.
How to Unlock Levioso in Hogwarts Legacy
Levioso is one of the initial level 1 spell that is unlocked during the “Defense Against Dark Arts Class” quest. Defense Against Dark Arts Class is part of another quest called , “Attend Your First Day At Hogwarts.”
First, head to the Astronomy Wing, which you can find from the map if you don’t already know. In the Astronomy wing, go all the way down to the bottom floor to attend the Defense against Dark Arts class.
You can also teleport to Defense against Dark Arts tower to reach the classroom.
In case you haven’t activated that Floo Flame, just teleport to the nearest one in the area. For reference, I have attached the image below.
Once you enter the class, the quest begins. Upon entering, a cutscene will appear in which Sebastian Sallow and Leander Prewett are fighting a duel using stupefy and Protego.
By using Bombarda by Sebastian Sallow, a giant skull is about to fall on Prewett, where he is saved by Professor Hackett using the Levioso spell. After the cutscene ends, you will learn the spell Levioso from Professor Hecat.
What is the Levioso Spell Used For in Hogwarts Legacy
Levioso is a levitation spell used to lift objects in the air, whether they are small or heavy. When you cast Levioso on enemies, it will immobilise them in the air for a while.
Basic cast doesn’t work on enemies that have a yellow bubble around them, so to break that yellow bubble, you use the spell Levioso, which is in the same colour. Once that yellow bubble is broken and the object is lifted in the air, you can use Basic Cast to harm the enemy.
You will also duel with Sebastian Sallow by using Protego, Levioso and Stupefy. If you win or lose the duel, Professor Hecat will appreciate you in both cases, and this won’t change the storyline for you.
How to Master the Levioso Spell in Hogwarts Legacy
To increase the effectiveness of the Levioso spell, you need talent points to enhance its range and amount of damage. First Reach level 5 and earn a talent point. From the Field guide, select the talents tab, where you will see the spells category and upgrade Levioso Mastery.
Once unlocked, you can levitate nearby enemies as well after mastering it through talent points. This is very helpful when you encounter a group of goblins, so it’s best to immobilize some of them for a while by using the Levioso charm.
