Crafting is a major part of Grounded 2 so naturally you need a lot of crafting materials and resources. This is where the Resource Finder comes in. The tool makes is so easy to find the most important resources in Grounded 2. Whether they are common or rare, no resource can escape the Resource Finder.

Resource Finder is the same tool that developers added to the first game but if you didn’t play the first game, you may not know it exists. Because unlike the Grounded, Grounded 2 hides it in early game and doesn’t really tell you where or how to get the Resource Finder.

If you’re wondering how to activate it, where to find key ingredients like blueberries, milk thistle, or acorns, and how to avoid common bugs (the literal and game-breaking kind), this guide has you covered.

How to Get Resource Finder Grounded 2

To get started you need to wait until you reach a point in the main story where you get an objective to craft two Spike Strips. The mission will end with your base being raided by a variety of creatures. Make sure you base is fortified and once you defeat the enemies and talk to Sloane, you will get the Resource Finder / Resource Scanner.

The scanner gets you the location of any resource you’ve already collected.

If you die during the raid or fail to defeat all enemies, some players report the wave not respawning, blocking story progression. Save your game before placing the traps to avoid getting stuck.

Open your map now and you’ll see the Resource Finder at the top left corner.

After unlocking, open your map and you’ll notice a new resource finder icon at the top. You can scan for:

  • Ant parts
  • Natural resources
  • Chunk-based materials

However, you must scan each new item at a Ranger Station analyzer before it shows up in the scanner.

Many bug parts can be found inside egg sacks. These don’t always lead to the bugs themselves. For rare drops (like Boiling Glands from Bombardier Beetles), you’ll need to kill the bug directly.
