OMV Dijiang is going to be your central hub and base of operations in Arknights: Endfield. The base isn’t cosmetic because its progression will directly impact your ability to upgrade materials, unlock facilities that help speed up character progression.

Upgrading Dijiang is a multi-step process in Arknights Enfield and it revolves around getting the Aerospace Material, completing progression requirements, and interacting with the ship’s core systems.

Once the main story reaches the point where the OMV Dijiang becomes accessible on the world map, it becomes your central hub. Upgrades for Dijiang allow you to improve the output and capabilities of internal systems, particularly the Manufacturing Cabins and Growth Chambers, which in turn produce materials and consumables needded to level up your operators and weapons in Arknights Endfield.

So it should be clear to anyone that without upgrading Dijiang in Arknights Endfield character progression will be slow because you’ll be limited in what you can do.

To get started you need to keep an eye on Baker Task menu. You’ll get a message from Xaihi regarding Dijiang upgrades, this is where the upgrading process starts as it unlocks the first quest; Dijiang Upgrade and Maintanence I.

Xaihi will ask you to appear at the Control Nexus where they are waiting for you.

OMV Dijiang requires Aerospace Materials for upgrading. The upgrades happen at the Control Nexus but you need the right materials to actually make the Upgrades.

How to Get Aerospace Materials to Upgrade Dijiang

At the heart of upgrading Dijiang is Aerospace Material, a construction and industrial resource with two tiers commonly referred to as Aerospace Material I and Aerospace Material II.

Aerospace Material I is for basic uprades while Aerospace Material II is used for more higher tier upgrades. Aerospace Material can not be acquired by taking down enemies. Instead, you collect it from Recycling Stations scattered throughout Talos-II’s regions. These stations periodically refresh and can be harvested for materials after they recharge. If you look at the map, you can spot recycling stations with a yellow flag as part of their symbol.

Higher tier stations produce more or higher level Aerospace Materials, especially once your regional area status rises.

Get your hands on Aeropace Material from the Recycling Stations on different maps of Arknights Endfield. These stations offer both Aerospace Material I and Material II.

Head back to the OMV Dijiang and access the Control Nexus which is the upgrade UI in the central ship menu. To speed up the process you can teleport to your ship from any map of the game.

When you interact with the terminal the game will automatically detect the necessary items from your inventory or depot once you initiate the upgrade prompt.

Basic upgrades to OMV Dijiang are easy to make but for more advanced upgrades you may have meet additional requirement. You’ll end up needing special quest items like Algorithm Expansion Chip, which is earned as part of the story progression.

But if you meet all the requirements, just hit the Upgrade button and your OMV Dijiang gets upgraded. You can add Manufacturing Cabins, Growth Chambers, and Cabin Efficiency. The more upgrades you make to the ship, the less you have to rely solely on field farming and map drops.
