In Expedition 33 you use potions to health, restore energy, and revive yourself and downed companions but these consumables only offer a certain amount of benefits until you upgrade them. The problem with these upgrades is that you need to find them in the game’s world, unlike other games where you can spent currency to get things done.
Health Tints are upgraded through items called Shape of upgrade materials while AP is upgraded through Energy Tints.
There are two Shape of Health upgrade tints you can find in Expedition 33. One of them is part of the beaten path while the other one is inside the mansion bathroom. Same is the case with Shape of Energy and Shape of Life, there are two of each kind available in Expedition 33.
Shape of Health Tint Upgrade #1
The first Shape of Health is part of the main story. You need to beat Goblu in Flying Waters. Play until you reach the Flying Waters area and then beat the boss to get the upgrade materials and progress the story.
Shape of Health Tint Upgrade #2
Enter the Manor through the door in the Sirene region. This will automatically give you access to the bathroom. There is a big mirror above the sink that you need to break using Free Aim. Climb through the broken mirror to find the second Shape of Health Tint in Expedition 33.
Shape of Energy Location #1
The first Shape of Energy is found inside the basement of the Manor. A door to the Manor is inside the Gestral Village. The door will take you to the Manor’s Kitchen which then leads to the basement of the Manor. To access the basement interact with different items in the kitchen to find the trapdoor that leads to the basement. Inside the basement you will find the first Shape of Energy upgrade materials.
Shape of Energy #2
The second Shape of Energy is also inside the Manor but this you need to go to the library. There is an elevated shelf in the library of the manor that has the Shape of Energy upgrade materials for you. To access the library use the Manor entrance just north of the Crushing Cavern on the World Map.
Once inside the library you’ll have to navigate a little to reach the elevated shelf. Use the spiral staircase and jump on the platforms to reach the other side where the Shape of Energy is.
Shape of Life #1
To get the first Shape of Life you need to beat the Lampmaster boss in the Stone Wave Cliffs region. It is part of the story so you can’t miss it in any case.
Shape of Life #2
The final Shape of Life item is also inside the Manor. It is behind the painting up the stairs to the left of the foyer in The Manor, as you can see in the image above.
