With the year coming to a close, Kingdom Come Deliverance 2 stands as one of 2025’s best-rated titles. In fact, this RPG was among the first games of the year that became the center of attention. This is exactly why many were hoping to see Warhorse Studios being recognized at The Game Awards earlier today.

Although the RPG was able to secure multiple nominations, it left the show with no awards. Understandably, this left the fans and developers disappointed, with the community manager later noting that Kingdom Come Deliverance 2 was robbed at The Game Awards.

Kingdom Come Deliverance 2 Robbed The Game Awards 2

Warhorse Studios’ latest RPG secured three big nominations at this year’s event, including Game of the Year, Best Narrative, and Best RPG. Because Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 was so dominant at the show, it took home all three of these awards and left Kingdom Come Deliverance 2 with nothing to show for its excellence.

Following this outcome, many fans took to social media and argued that Kingdom Come Deliverance 2 deserved the Best RPG award since Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 was fairly light on RPG elements compared to the more dynamic nature of Warhorse Studios’ narrative.

Community manager Sir Tobi later joined the conversation and stated that the team was officially robbed. Even the game’s official Twitter account referenced its lack of victories, sharing a light-hearted meme to tease the team’s reactions to The Game Awards.

“We have officially been robbed.” – Sir Tobi

Some fans believe that Kingdom Come Deliverance 2 was overshadowed because it was released quite early in the year. The suggested later games got more attention, and therefore, had better odds of winning due to potential recency bias.

Despite the outcry from the fans and interesting reactions from Warhorse Studios, Kingdom Come Deliverance 2 was far from the only game to fail at The Game Awards 2025. Others like Dispatch and Ghost of Yotei also failed to take any big wins home, highlighting just how stiff the competition was this year.
