Nioh 3 features a gacha-like system dubbed ‘Masterpieces’ for pulling weapons. For anyone familiar with attempting to gain characters in a gacha game, Masterpieces in Nioh 3 allow you to earn a weapon at random while typically aiming for the best rarity.

To make these rolls more favorable, Nioh 3 also allows you to invest ‘Valor Records’ into each pull, with each Valor Record increasing your chances of securing an Exotic weapon. This makes Valor Records quite important throughout the game.

In short: Valor Records = better loot odds.

Here’s a quick guide on how you can find Valor Records to earn Exotic weapons through Masterpieces.

All Way to Get Valor Records

The good news is that earning Valor Records isn’t particularly hard. All you need to do is engage with Nioh 3’s online component. Of course, this means that an internet connection is needed to earn Valor Records.

Simply head over to the co-op section and select ‘Expeditions’ or ‘Become a Visitor.’ The former lets you join forces with other players for exploration and completing missions.

On the other hand, when you select Become a Visitor, the goal is to join other players’ games and take down bosses. Finishing co-op sessions through either of these options should net you a Valor Record.

Using Valor Records

Once you have your Valor Records, head over to the Teahouse in Eternal Rest and open the Masterpieces section in the Trade menu to begin experimenting.

Here’s you can assign a set number of Valor Records before pulling for a weapon, and the higher you go, the greater your chances of pulling an Exotic.

To make this process easier, Nioh 3 also shows your chances of obtaining an Exotic, but as any gacha player will tell you, nothing is guaranteed.

  • In any case, Valor records are worth farming for multiple reasons, if:
  • You’re chasing Exotic weapons
  • You’re optimizing endgame builds
  • You want better Masterpiece results with fewer wasted pulls

If you ignore Valor Records, you’ll still progress, but at a much slower and less efficient pace.
