Balloons are a pretty useful item in PEAK, reducing your fall damage by a huge extent. They reduce the risk of sudden death and are required to get the “Take Flight” badge which is one of the many badges in the game.

Balloons in PEAK shouldn’t be considered like a full on parachute. Their primary function is to slow your descent and reduce fall damage. While they don’t act as a full parachute, even a handful of balloons can mean the difference between a survivable stumble and instant death.

With that said, if you have enough of them equipped, you can actually take flight.

In this Peak guide, I will tell you where you can find Balloons and how you can use them.

Where Can I Find Balloons in PEAK

You can find Balloons in luggage boxes all around the island. They can also randomly spawn where you crash on the island. If you don’t find any balloons at the crash spot, worry not, as you won’t need them early on. A better method is just to play the game, as many balloons will appear throughout your play through. You add single pieces to make a bunch of your own balloons, too.

You won’t need balloons if you are just starting. Save them for when you progress further into the game and will need to start your ascent and scale up rough terrains. They will greatly help you negate fall damage and avoid sudden deaths.

Now that you have balloons, let’s take a look at how you can use them for your benefit.

How to Use Balloons in PEAK

As I just mentioned above, they can help you reduce fall damage, but not all damage. If the height you fall from is too high, like if you jump from a mountain, the balloons won’t be able to absorb the damage, and you will die. However, balloons can prevent accidental death if you fall from mid-range heights, not too short and not too high.

To equip balloons, open your inventory and select them. They will then appear above your head.

That’s how you get balloons in Peak and get the “Take Flight” badge. If you are having trouble getting the School Uniform outfit, check out our guide on that too.
