Following the PEAK’s recent Mesa update, players are attempting to get all the badges and explore the new biome. Among the 10 different badges added to the game, some require players to gather simple things such as balloons, while a few, like the 24 Karat Badge, demand some serious efforts.

To get this badge, players have to offer a worthy sacrifice to the Kiln. This is the only description and hint you can find about this badge, but don’t worry, I have created this guide to help you unlock the 24 Karat Badge and offer the Kiln a worthy surprise.

Before we begin, make sure that your game is running version 1.22a or higher, as the 24 Karat Badge is only available in these versions.

How to Offer the Kiln a Worthy Sacrifice in PEAK?

Before you can offer the Kiln the right sacrifice, you need something worthy of it. The Golden Bing Bong aka Ancient Idol is what you need to find.

How to Find the Ancient Idol Tomb in the Mesa Biome

As you reach the Mesa level, look for a small hole in the sand. There is no fixed position of this hole, but it usually appears at a much lower position, which is ideal for twisters to spawn. I suggest you don’t start climbing the mountain unless you find this hole.

Be patient while finding the hole; it is going to take some time. Once located, enter it, and you will land at a different biome known as The Tomb. Please keep in mind that The Tomb has a 25% chance to spawn per day. If you aren’t lucky enough to find it, wait for the daily reset.

Inside The Tomb, you will have to solve a parkour puzzle. It is best to bring Pitons and Rope Spools for this section for the Tomb. Keep navigating the tunnel until you see light in the distance.

After you reach the center of the room, you will get a Golden Bing Bong. Pick it up and head your way back, but this time take a secret exit just underneath the stairs from where you came inside The Tomb.

The Golden Bing Bong is extremely heavy, but it keeps you completely safe from all sorts of damages. While carrying it, you become invincible (immune to lava, hazards, enemies). Movement slows dramatically so use balloons to lighten your load and move faster.

Don’t drop it unless absolutely necessary; retrieving it can be a hassle.

Offer Kiln a Worthy Sacrifice

Now that you have the Golden Bing Bong, it is time to leave Mesa and reach the Kiln level. Since your damage is turned off due to the Golden Bing Bong, simply run through the lava ocean in CALDERA and reach the Kiln.

Throw the Golden Bing Bong into the lava, and the badge will pop up. As a reward, you will unlock the Bing Bong Beanie hat.

Known Bugs & Issues

Sometimes the badge won’t unlock even after the sacrifice is made. This is possibly due to Kiln’s lava not being coded as the correct sacrifice zone. It the sacrifice doesn’t work, the best thing to do is to try again on a new seed/day.

Otherwise, you’ll have to wait for an official patch to fix this issue.
