There are different types of Pokémon that you can gather throughout your journey of Pokémon Legends Z-A. One category that really stands out is the Dragon one, which has some of the best Pokémon of the game, including the Goomy. However, getting this one is slightly different from other Pokémon.
Goomy can be found in the Lumiose Sewers, a hidden area beneath the city that unlocks later in the main story.
Goomy Location in Pokémon Legends Z-A
The Goomy Pokémon can only be found during Rainy Weather. Let’s take a look at where rain usually occurs:
- Jaune District – Saison Canalside, south of Justice Dojo (Below the Bridge)
- Lumiose Sewers – Access Through Vert District after completing Side Mission 57 (The Camerupt Entrepreneur)
- Lumiose Sewers – Access Through Magenta District (unlocked after completing Main Story Mission 20 (A Request from the Rust Syndicate)
- Vert Sector 4 – Vert District, near the Cafe Classe Rooftop, next to the Fountain
- Vert Sector 8 Rooftop, near the Hotel
- Pier in Saison Canal (Next to the Binacle Boat Side Quest)
- The corner of the hill overlooking Jaune Sector 12 and 10, tucked within the limits of the slope and Wild Area 6.
The Jaune and Vert Districts have a chance to spawn the Alpha Goomy, which is slightly larger than the normal Goomy. If luck is not on your side and it is not raining, you can sit on a bench to ‘Spend Time’ for several days, and it will eventually rain.
Know that Goomy doesn’t always appear right away. If you don’t see it you can also try leaving the area and return to refresh the spawn. During rainy weather, you may even encounter an Alpha Goomy near the Saison Canal, offering a tougher but more rewarding catch.
Evolving Goomy in Pokémon Legends Z-A

Make sure that your Goomy is level 40. After that, select it on the Part Menu (X), then click ‘Evolve’ over Goomy’s thumbnail. Now, it will evolve into Sliggo.
Level it up to 50 and wait for a Rainy Ray by either using the bench trick or forcing it. You can force the weather to become rainy by starting Secondary Mission 64 ‘Let it Rain, Let it Pour’.
The mission can be started after you have completed the Main Mission 20, and it will appear in the Rouge Sector 7 Battle Court. Talk to Cielestine and then select the option ‘Wait until it rains’. Once the fight ends, if your Sliggo is level 50, you will be able to evolve it into Goodra.
Goobra mostly focuses on area coverage, with attacks like Surf and Power Whip. It comes to a Base Start Total of 600. Pretty decent in my opinion.
Note: Misty Weather is currently not working to evolve Sliggoo into Goodra at the moment. Also, it is not currently possible to get Hisuian Goodra in Pokémon Legends Z-A, as most regional forms are locked.
