After a long wait, Resident Evil is finally set to receive a brand new mainline entry, and Resident Evil Requiem is on track to become one of the biggest games of 2026. In fact, Circana’s analysis shows that pre-orders for the title are going quite strong.
Resident Evil Requiem’s current performance is evident on Amazon, where Capcom’s upcoming horror release is currently the best-selling pre-ordered game. Moreover, it seems Amazon is even having trouble keeping up with the demand and is now cancelling the Deluxe Edition pre-orders.

Currently, multiple gamers on Twitter are receiving emails regarding cancellations of Resident Evil Requiem pre-orders from Amazon.
As WaddlesToddles shared, Amazon has confirmed that it won’t be able to fulfill the order for the Deluxe Edition and Steelbook combo. Elsewhere, KrispyNoKen shared a similar story on the platform, expressing disappointment at the cancellation.
A thread created by Dusk Golem contains even more confirmations of other users receiving the same update from Amazon.

Ultimately, it seems the demand for Resident Evil Requiem has proven too much for Amazon to handle amid the ongoing excitement.
The cancellations likely stem from an Amazon-specific problem, but even in Japan, the Resident Evil Requiem Generations Pack appears to be sold out on the Nintendo Switch 2, no less. No matter how you look at it, it seems Capcom is set for one of its biggest releases ever.
Resident Evil Requiem launches on February 27, promising a more terrifying experience than Resident Evil Village. With Leon returning to the series after many years and Grace showing up as an all-new protagonist, there is much to be excited for, and it seems this excitement is already being reflected in the game’s pre-order situation.
