In Silent Hill f, Shrine Path Altar is your first puzzle to solve. The story leads you there when Honkai end up waking here at the altar. At the altar in front of you there is a puzzle. Here is how you can complete the puzzle at each difficulty level in Silent Hill f.
There are 3 levels of difficulty at which you can play the game and solve the puzzle accordingly:
- Story
- Hard
- Lost in the fog
The puzzle requires you to match symbols on the pedestals with some offering in a certain order. Head straight to the shrine and you can see a journal there, the journal gives you the clue to solving the puzzle. The puzzle note reads:
Thy restless heart betrays thee as unfit for this auspicious day.
Thou must first pay respect to the gods and the spirits of thine ancestors.
A restless heart leads to a corrupt soul.
Only through sufficient offerings laid upon many stands may thy soul be cleansed
After reading the journal (puzzle note), your journal tab will be updated.
Interact with the altar, and you can see five pedestals on which you can place the offerings, each offering has a symbol on it and the pedestals too.
At each difficult you need to match the pedestals symbol with offering let’s take a look at the solution for each difficulty level.

In hard mode obviously it’s not that simple now the symbols won’t match. To solve the Shrine Altar puzzle in hard mode place the offerings in the following order now Fan → Branches → Pot → Dress → Rat (from left to right).
How to solve shine altar puzzle in silent hill f Lost in the fog mode
Now for the Lost in the fog mode the journal(puzzle note) in front of the shrine is changed to read it again. The journal says:
Kudzu, respected by all and a leader of the people, was wed to Pine.
Plum, loved by all and always at the center of any group, was wed to Bamboo.
Chrysanthemum, who had no mate, spent their days studying under Kudzu and became known as the “Sage of the East.”
Let the prosperity of our clan be eternal.
In the lost fog mode this journal is a hint to solving the puzzle in the following manner
- Kudzu and Pine → Fan + Branches
- Plum and Bamboo → Dress + Rat
- Chrysanthemum under Kudzu → Pot
so the final order to solve the Shrine Altar Puzzle in Silent Hill f is Fan → Branches → Dress → Rat → Pot (from left to right)
