Past rumors also suggested that a Nintendo Switch 2 version of the game was in the works, giving everyone just one more reason to look forward to everything Starfield in 2026. Unfortunately, despite the excitement for a portable Starfield experience, an update on the situation hints that Bethesda may no longer be working on this specific version.
According to Shinobi602, focus has shifted away from the Nintendo Switch 2 version of Starfield. Although the insider cannot exactly confirm the fate of this version yet, he suggests this Starfield port may never see the light of day.
This comes as a surprise since Bethesda has been keen on supporting the Nintendo hardware with titles like The Elder Scrolls 5: Skyrim. Moreover, Xbox has shown quite a lot of interest in the platform and is working on releasing its games on as many platforms as possible.
Elsewhere, rumors suggest that Starfield is still on track for a PS5 launch later this year. According to new information, the game could hit Sony’s console on April 27, offering a more complete and enhanced version of the RPG for PlayStation players.
