So you modded Starfield on Steam Deck but now can’t see your achievements? Well, that is because the game turns off and disables achievements if you mod it. It doesn’t matter if you modded on PC or Steam Deck, the result will be the same.
But how do you reenable Starfield achievements? Here’s a quick guide.
How To Reenable Starfield Achievements On Steam Deck
The first thing you need to do is download the Starfield Script Extender aka SFSE. You can get from Nexus mods. Use the Steam Deck browser to search for the mod and download it through Nexus.
Don’t leave Nexus mods just yet, make sure to also download the Baka Achievement Enabler. The reason why I recommend using Baka is because it doesn’t break your save files, which some other mods reportedly do.

You can follow the links on this page to download both mods required to reenable Starfield achievements or use your browser on Steam Deck to run the search.
Go to the Dolphin File Explorer > Downloads folder where you can find the downloaded mods.
- Open Dolphin File Explorer (blue folder icon).
- Navigate to the Downloads folder.
- For each downloaded file, use the left trigger to select it.
- Choose Extract and opt to place them into a new folder.
After extraction, select the data folder using the left trigger. Choose Copy from the menu and go to the following path:
- /home/deck/.steam/steam/steamapps/common/Starfield/
Inside the Starfield directory, click an empty space with the left trigger and paste the files.
Return to the Downloads folder and inside the SFSE folder, copy both sfse_loader.exe and sfse_1_7_23.dll. Paste them into the Starfield directory you visited earlier.
Click on sfse_loader.exe with the left trigger and select “Add to Steam.” If the file isn’t listed, click Browse and manually locate it using the path above.
Open Steam and locate the sfse_loader file in your Library. Click on it with the left trigger to access the submenu. Select Properties > Compatibility. From the drop-down menu, choose Proton Experimental.
Press Play to start Starfield with SFSE and the achievement enabler active.
You can mod any Bethesda game, but I recommend that you keep Baka files around in case achievements are disabled.
