When Remnant 2 came out it had a really hard time maintaining 30 FPS on Steam Deck. There were dips below 30 very often but how is the performance that developers have launched many patches and even DLC?
The good news is that Steam Deck runs Remnant 2 much better. It can hold out 30 fps and very rarely drops below that mark. Sometimes you will even touch 45 FPS but those are rare occasions.
With my list of best settings for Remnant 2, you can have a decent experience playing this title. Remnant 2 is stable on Steam Deck, but certain areas or planets may cause significant FPS drops.

XeSS Delivers the best balance, holding above 30 FPS in most scenarios without significant fuzziness or input latency issues.
Make sure to cap frame rate at 45 FPS to reduce wattage and stabilize performance, although the game rarely reaches 45 FPS consistently.
Performance Variations:
- Hatchery Area: Stable above 30 FPS, even during combat-heavy sequences.
- Hub Area: Occasional dips below 30 FPS due to heavy graphical effects.
- Marshlands Area: Significant dips to the low 20s FPS in certain spots (e.g., when facing a large bird or in combat). Despite lower FPS, performance remains stable without severe input latency.
For online multiplayer with these settings’ gameplay is possible with XeSS Performance Mode, maintaining stable 30+ FPS during boss fights and combat.
I did experience some connectivity issues, and it took multiple attempts to connect to a game.
