Valve recently announced a new Steam Machine, completely shaking the console and PC gaming industries. Promising a console-like PC gaming experience, the upcoming piece of hardware from Valve holds the potential to increase Valve’s market share in the hardware industry after its success with the Steam Deck.

Although it remains to be seen just how successful the latest addition to Valve’s hardware family will end up being, the Steam Machine is already doing quite well in terms of wishlists.

Steam Machine Among Top Wishlisted Titles

Currently, games like Resident Evil Requiem lead Steam’s wishlists. However, the Steam Machine has recently landed in the 15th position, beating many highly anticipated upcoming releases.

It has also passed games like Gothic Remake, Mouse: P.I. For Hire, and Fable, highlighting the current interest in the hardware. The Steam Frame and Steam Controller aren’t too far behind either, with the former landing just outside the top 20.

According to Alinea Analytics, the Steam Machine likely has 1 million wishlisters on the platform, with the Steam Frame being close to this figure too. While these numbers are unlikely to be indicative of real-world sales next year, they suggest that general audiences are at least interested in the Steam Machine.

If Valve prices the new hardware right and ramps up marketing efforts ahead of the early 2026 release, the new hardware could certainly make a dent in the console and PC markets, particularly appealing to gamers interested in both PC and console gaming.

Currently, Valve is aiming to launch the Steam Machine in early 2026. Pricing is expected to land somewhere around $700, so it will be interesting to see how the market reacts to this release.
