To get higher-quality fish in Story of Seasons Grand Bazaar, fish baits help a lot. The better the bait, the higher-tier fish you will get. It is a simple five-step process in SOS Grand Bazaar and requires some common materials you can easily find all over the game world.

This guide will take you through how to get all types of fish baits and use them to catch good fish.

How to Craft Fish Baits in Story of Seasons Grand Bazaar

The first step involves unlocking the blue windmill. The blue windmill unlocks a lot of crafting recipes, including the small, medium, large, and guardian bait. Here’s how to craft them in SOS Grand Bazaar:

  • For Small Fish Bait, get 1x Fish Bait Stock and 4x Weeds.
  • For Medium Fish Bait, you need 1x Fish Bait Stock, 4x Weeds, and 1x Rice.
  • To craft Large Fish Bait, gather 1x Fish Bait Stock, 4x Weeds, and 1x Corn.
  • For crafting Guardian Bait, you will need 1x Fish Bait Stock, 4x Weeds, and 1 Fish Bone.

Note: Fish Bait Stock is only a crafting ingredient, not usable on its own.

As you might have noticed, all of these items require one common crafting item, Fish Bait Stock. They are available for purchase in Miguel’s store. Combine it with other items to craft different baits. It takes more than a day to craft a stack of 10 Fish Baits. The time increases as you craft larger baits.

Guardian Bait is a little different to get. Obtaining its recipe requires unlocking Felipe, getting the Wonderstones, and placing them into the Blue Windmill.

Let’s take a look at how to use the baits you just crafted.

Pro Tip: I highly recommend that you always keep a stack of Flour on hand so you can mill more bait whenever you need it. This way, you won’t run out during fishing festivals or when grinding for big catches.

How to Use Fish Baits in Story of Seasons Grand Bazaar

Here’s how to equip fish baits in Story of Seasons Grand Bazaar:

  • Grab your desired bait and put them in your inventory.
  • In your inventory, press “Y” (for switch) on the bait you wanna use for fishing.
  • This will set your current bait.
  • If you wanna unequip the bait, deposit it, and it will automatically unequip. To equip it again, retrieve it.

If you are wondering how to check whether the bait is equipped or not, then I’ve got you covered. Look for a hook icon on the bait in the lower-left corner of the screen.

There’s an item called “Fish Bait Stock”, and I have seen a lot of players mistaking it for fish baits. This item does not function like a fish bait, and you cannot use it for fishing
