It’s really hard to find a good 2D game these days, but one that really caught my eye is Terminator 2D: No Fate. It is an action video game that brings the iconic movie “Terminator 2: Judgement Day” to life. It provides a fun and adventurous experience for the player, which is hard to find in any other 2D game.

However, despite all that, there have been reports claiming that the game doesn’t work as it should on an ultrawide monitor. You will be met with black bars at the sides, which can be frustrating. Terminator 2D No Fate is not working correctly on your PC? Don’t worry, I gotchu.

Confirmed Fix for Terminator 2D No Fate Ultrawide Issue

Terminator 2D: No Fate doesn’t have ultrawide support, which is a problem for players with an ultrawide monitor. That’s where Rose from the widescreen community comes in clutch with a patch that removes pillarboxing from the presentation. It will enable ultrawide and wider support for the game. I’ll take you through the process:

  • Open Task Manager and make sure Terminator 2D: No Fate is not running (If it is, then right-click on the game and then click “End Task.”)
  • Head over to this GitHub link and download the latest patch file by clicking Terminator.2D.ultrawide.v0.1.zip under Assets.
  • Right-click the game in your Steam library, hover the cursor over “Manage”, and click the “Browse local files” option.
  • A new Explorer Window will open, containing game files. Unpack the downloaded zip file here.
  • Now, launch Terminator 2D: No Fate, and it will run in Ultrawide without black bars.
Working fix for Terminator 2D: NO FATE ultrawide issue on PC.

All thanks to Rose for helping the ultrawide monitor users out. However, we can’t expect the patch to be flawless, so here are some issues it comes with:

  • Various UI imperfections.
  • The objects and enemy culling zone are narrower than the screen size.
  • The optional CRT filter causes more distortion than in 16:9.

I’m pretty sure Rose will update the patch to get rid of these issues, so keep an eye out for that as well. You can delete the mode by deleting the files that came with it.

We can’t always rely on patches, so I hope the game’s developers add ultrawide support officially. I hope that this guide helped you. If you are experiencing errors and crashes in games, also see our fixes hub for commonly occurring errors for PC.
