In The Alters, to survive on another planet, you gather new samples or resources to craft hooks, anchors, Luminator, bridge, etc. Planetary Samples is also a resource that helps you do advanced research. These planetary samples are collected by following the Interal trail. This Interal location is visible only using a Luminator.
In this guide, I will walk you through how you can easily find locations of these Interal and destroy the core to get Planetary Samples in the Alters.
How To Unlock Interal Trail Locations in Act I
During Act 1, you will have two Interal trail locations to collect planetary samples. The first one is on the Northeast side near lava, and the second one is on the south side.
Location of the first Interal Trail in The Alters
The first Interal location might not get you a planetary sample, but it’s the key to start the research on Luminator and craft it because without it, you can find the internal vein core to destroy. Go south from your base location to reach the mineral Outpost. From that, go right and follow the path of anomalies beyond the lava river until you reach the Interal trail (a green bright light).
Note: Watch out for the path of anomalies it’s best you walk past them slowly because you are defenseless against these anomalies at this point.
You can’t destroy that Interal Vein Core because you don’t have Luminator yet. Head back to the base and talk to Jan the Scientist to unlock Luminator and start getting planetary sample from the next internal trail location.
Location of the Second Interal Trail in The Alters
The second Interal location is unlocked after the Magnetic storm during Act 1. Head to the southwest of the organic fields.
Follow the internal to reach the Interal vein core, destroy it to get a planetary sample.
Planetary sample Unlocks
Once you get the planetary samples after destroying the Interal vein core, you will get advanced research for the following fields.
Advanced, enriched metal outpost that is 30 % faster than basic ones
An anomaly shield that will help you neutralize the radiation coming out of the anomaly.
The planetary sample will also unlock a large storage module with a capacity of 700.
Luminator Density will increase its light by 25 % to quickly neutralize the anomaly
You will be able to increase Luminator range by 25% after getting planetary samples by destroying the Interal Vein core.
