The Alters is getting popular fast on Steam and if you are wondering one of the players, and wondering where to find the game’s save file you have come to the right place yet again – Clawsomegamer!
With the save file location you can edit the saves to enable modding or cheats, you can do some troubleshooting, or simply back up your files if you don’t have faith in the Steam’s Cloud Saves.
The location isn’t always obvious to Steam games so, I am here to help, here is where you can find the Alters save file on Steam.

The Save File for The Alter is inside your C Drive. You can follow the path I shared above to reach the location. There is an alternate way to do this too. All you need to is on the R

This command will take you directly to the game’s save file folder.
If your goal to tweak or make any sort of edit to the game’s save file I highly recommend you DO NOT do it until you back up your save file. The Alters comes with a single save slot so if you mess it up you will lose all you game progress.
The best way to make any sort of changes to The Alters save file is by manually copying the save files onto a USB drive or on a separate folder on your PC in case something goes wrong.
The Alters does come with Steam Cloud Support, but I still say you should back it up manually if you plan on making any sort of changes to the mix.
Lastly, be careful starting a New Game because it will override your existing save file without proper communication.
