Keep progressing through your journey of The Outer Worlds 2, and you will unlock several biomes and areas. One of these is Paradise Island, which serves as the hub for several main story quests, along with some side quests and collectibles.
As with any other area, Paradise Island also comes with its fair share of confusing and difficult tasks, one requiring you to repair the Power Substation that’s located at the southernmost part. If you are struggling with this quest, then this guide has got you covered.
How Can I Repair the Power Substation on Paradise Island in The Outer Worlds 2
Before you start repairing the Power Substation, there are some requirements you must meet.
- Engineering Level 3
- Innovative Trait
- Substation Repair Kit
If you already have Engineering Level 3 or have chosen the Innovative Trail, repairing the Power Substation will not be a problem for you. However, what if you don’t have either? That’ where plan B comes in clutch, which requires you to get the Substation Repair Kit.
How to Get Substation Repair Kit in The Outer Worlds 2
Head to Paradise Island and take a left from the Power Substation. Jump down and you will find a grate on the body of the Substation. Use Sneak Level 2, or make sure that you have chosen the Nimble Trait to enter through the grate. Higher-level Sneak will make this easier.
Now that you are inside the grate, you will find the Substation Repair Kit on the table. You may explore the room for more loot and items. Now, leave the grate and use the ladder to the roof. Here, enable the power using the Substation Repair Kit.
Now, enter the Substation and turn right. There, charge the Substation Fuse and then remove the Fuse. Carry it to the empty slot at the second Substation with the unpowered door. The Second Substation is located opposite the first Power Substation.
Exit the Substation and head straight until you find the empty slot and the unpowered door to the right. This is where you will need to insert the Charged Substation Fuse to get access to the second Substation. You will also find the Corrosive Shock Machine Gun inside on a table.
This weapon is a pretty good reward for repairing the Power Substation, as early on, it will provide you with a great advantage against armored opponents.
You also unlock the Befuddled Fisherman’s house at the bottom of the hill after repairing the Power Substation.
