The Precinct is out on Steam and as is the case with most games, I always recommend finding the save file and make sure to back it up manually, especially if you plan to make any tweaks to it.
The save file location for The Precinct is in the usual location. We will be looking at the C Drive as usual but there is a slight difference compared to other games.
The save file is inside the folder that is named after the game’s developer, Fallen Tree Games Ltd. So you don’t be looking for The Precinct but instead, the name of the game’s developer.
However, inside the Fallen Tree Games Ltd folder you will find the main The Precinct folder that has the save files.
The Precinct Save File Location
| Client | Save File Location |
|---|---|
| Steam | C:\Users\[Windows Username]\AppData\LocalLow\Fallen Tree Games Ltd\The Precinct\SaveGame_Steam |
A quicker way to reach this location is by entering the following command in Windows Run;
- %USERPROFILE%/AppData/LocalLow/Fallen Tree Games Ltd/The Precinct/SaveGame_Steam
The Precinct does come with Steam Cloud Support but only one Save Slot. If you want to start a new campaign. You must back up your save file manually, delete it, and start over. At the time of this writing there is no new game plus mode either.
But there is a lot of crime to stop in the game so even if you don’t start a new campaign you can keep saving the day for a long time.
