Following a series of tough announcements, Ubisoft has finally shared encouraging news regarding its future. In its latest earnings report, the company confirmed that IPs like Assassin’s Creed performed well last quarter, setting the stage for a potential comeback.
At the same time, Ubisoft’s ongoing restructuring is in full effect. In fact, the company has also decided to cut 200 employees from its team.

According to a report from Variety, the company informed its shareholders today that it has begun the process of eliminating 200 roles from the team.
These measures have been put in place at the Ubisoft HQ in France, which Ubisoft claims will lead to a leaner and more agile studio for the future. In fact, the French gaming giant appears to be going about this process differently than in the past.
Instead of simply laying off these employees, Ubisoft is said to be pursuing a voluntary departure plan. If nothing else, this plan will at least make the situation a little less bad for employees who will be leaving the Ubisoft HQ in France soon.

Judging by the studio’s current position, this may not be the last of Ubisoft’s job cuts, at least for now. The French gaming giant is continuing with its restructuring, so more casualties are expected along the way.
Recently, many employees have also expressed their dissatisfaction with CEO Yves Guillemot. As it stands, many of Ubisoft’s current employees are not happy with how management is treating the team, and such job cuts will only fuel the fires of discontentment further among the game developers.
