Ubisoft’s latest turmoil has more than just upset its employees. In the last few days, the company has not only cancelled multiple games internally, but it has also reportedly proposed a new round of layoffs as part of ongoing restructuring.

Needless to say, all of this has upset Ubisoft employees. In fact, new reports suggest that developers within Ubisoft Paris have come up with a more personal form of boycott against CEO Yves Guillemot himself. They intend to walk out on the CEO next week.

Ubisoft CEO Yves Guillemot

As reported by French outlet Le Figaro, Yves Guillemot is set to visit Ubisoft Paris on Tuesday, February 3rd. It is said that this visit had been planned for a while now, but the CEO’s recent antics have turned the employees against him.

They claim that Yves Guillemot is not welcome at Ubisoft Paris, and to show that this is a unanimous opinion, the employees have collectively decided to walk out as soon as the CEO enters the building, showing solidarity in their stand against his decisions.

“It’s time to make our boss understand that he’s not welcome in our offices as long as he continues to mistreat his employees.” -Ubisoft Paris

What makes this stand against the CEO so interesting is the fact that Ubisoft Paris currently employs 700 developers. The staff currently feels that Ubisoft’s stance on remote work, unionization, and more does not take into account employees’ well-being.

Needless to say, Ubisoft has found itself in a tight spot, with share prices also dropping rapidly over the last week or so. It remains to be seen whether the French giant will bounce back from its current position, but the situation certainly seems dire.
