The last big entry in The Crew franchise turned two recently, and the series saw plenty of controversy when Ubisoft shut down The Crew’s servers last year. Since then, the reliable Tom Henderson has also said that a new entry in the IP has been greenlit at Ubisoft.

Adding to the news around this series, the team at Clawsomegamer has spotted a job listing for an unannounced project at Ubisoft Ivory Tower, which suggests that the third major entry in The Crew IP has now begun development.

Ubisoft Ivory Tower Hiring For Next The Crew Game With AI-Powered Level Design

Ubisoft Ivory Tower is currently hiring a Senior Level Designer for an unannounced project. The studio has historically worked exclusively on the The Crew franchise for Ubisoft, and with recent rumors from reliable sources stating that the next Crew game has already been greenlit, it seems the team has begun working on this project.

Looking at the qualifications section of the job listing (translated via ChatGPT and Google Translate) also reveals something interesting. The qualifications ask for experience with AI-driven level design, more or less confirming that the next Crew title will make use of the technology for its level design.

“Solid experience in Level Design, ideally on AAA productions involving AI-driven Leven Design.”

Of course, Ubisoft relying on AI technology for the development of a major AAA title is hardly a surprise today. The publisher recently debuted a new generative AI project, following up on its announcement of Neo NPCs in 2024. Suffice it to say, the company is heavily invested in this technology.

It will be quite interesting to see, then, how the fourth major entry in The Crew IP makes use of generative AI. Notably, many games using this technology have seen a lot of backlash, but audiences may find themselves warming up to artificial intelligence by the time Ubisoft Ivory Tower’s next game rolls around.
