During your journey of Absolum, you will acquire several Rituals. Keep progressing, and you will eventually feel the need for an upgrade. This is where Vikhana the Joyful comes in clutch, who will buff your Rituals in exchange for Imbued Fruit. Once you have done a decent amount of upgrades, she will have a request that involves retrieving her tools for better Rituals upgrades.
Vikhana the Joyful is one of the most important NPCs you’ll encounter in Absolum. She’s not just another side character her questline directly affects your mid-to-late game power curve.
Where to find Vikhana’s Tools in Absolum
Although Vikhana will give you general directions of the tools in Jaroba, and the quest will be marked on your map, you will still find the location of the tools a bit confusing. Don’t worry, I’ve got you covered.
- Head to the third node to find the resting heartroot spot.
- Stick to the lower-right side of the screen to reveal a hidden path blocked by vines.
- Attack these and you will enter The Green Maze, an area containing The Beast, Fallen Guardian boss fight at the fifth node.
- Kill The Beast to reach The Hidden Sanctuary, where you will find Vikhana’s tools in a chest.
Tip: Saving Vikhana early ensures you can start building Ritual power before the difficulty spike in late Jaroba.
After defeating The Beast, continue forward into the Hidden Sanctuary. There, you’ll find a large chest containing Vikhana’s Ritual Tools.
Now, when you start a new run, talk to Vikhana at the main Sanctuary to give her those tools. There will be a chance that she will appear during your run in one of the non-boss rooms to upgrade a random ritual you own.
The chances are random, meaning there’s a possibility that she doesn’t show up at all. There is no way to force her to show up. But pretty worth it for the upgrades.
Return the Tools to Vikhana
When you have the tool head back to the Sanctuary and speak with Vikhana. She will thank you for your efforts and continue with her ritualist abilities.
- Vikhana can now appear randomly during runs (in non-boss rooms).
- When she appears, she offers to upgrade one of your existing Rituals at no cost.
- These upgrades are often stronger than those you can purchase directly, providing rare level boosts.
It should be noted that her appearances random so she might not show up every run. However, the upgrades you get from her are permanent which means each time you meet her your character progression moves forward.
