Elden Ring Nightreign isn’t all about going after Nightlords in multiplayer and offline modes. There are missions you can do as well. For example, there are Remembrance Missions available to each class and they offer exclusive rewards and Murk.
One of the default characters, Wylder, has a Chapter 3 Remembrance Mission given my Iron Menial at the Roundtable Hold. If you don’t already know, Iron Menial is the caretaker of the Roundtable Hold in Elden Ring Nightreign.
The Remembrance Mission revolves around finding a Whetstone but in classic Elden Ring fashion, the only thing Iron Menial tells us is that we need to go to the Mining Tunnel to find it. Which mining tunnel? Where is the mining tunnel? Well, here’s everything you need to know to find the Whetstone in Mining Tunnel.
Where to Find Whetstone in Elden Ring Nightreign
The tunnel you need to visit (as shown in the image above) has two separate entrances. You can use either entrance to access the underground area. The Whetstone is in the middle of the tunnel, between rocks and Gold glow around it.
The location is easy to find but the underground area is dangerous. There are multiple creatures inside but it is also a trap if the zone starts to move. So you have to be quick to get in and get out with the Whetstone.
Use Spectral Hawks to move quickly across the map. You can also press down on the D-pad (if using a controller) to view the underground layout of Limveld’s tunnels, which helps avoid getting stuck.
If, and I’m not sure about it, this Whetstone location generated randomly by the game then you need to check every miningshaft.
What Happens When You Get the Whetstone
After you have found the Whetstone:
- Finish the expedition, win or lose, and you will receive Slate Whetstone quest item reward.
- Return to Iron Menial and pick up the three rewards on the tables he left you. One of them is the earring he was fixing for the Duchess.
- Go to the second room (the one with the beds for shifting earth events) and use the prompt to raise both earrings at the back of the room.
- Return to the Duchess with the earring and give it to her, finishing the Remembrance and earning Slate Whetstone unique relic.
This relic gives Wylder one special buff: when using greatsword he can now trigger a huge follow-up attack with grappling hook. Press the light attack button to ignite weapon and smash enemies with the energy.
