Aside from the stunning graphics, Where Winds Meet doesn’t have an end to its content. You can explore its vast open world, engage in combat, and complete various quests, craft items, and more. Aside from all this, there’s just one problem.

The only aspect in which Where Winds Meet lacks is character creation. There’s no straightforward way to create a character. This guide will take you through how to create a new character in Where Winds Meet.

Is it Even Possible to create a New Character in Where Winds Meet?

The short answer will be no, you can’t create a new character in Where Winds Meet, but there is a workaround for it. Once you create a character, you are stuck with them till the end. However, there’s a way you can start over with a new character. For that, you will need your Steam account as well as a NetEase account.

To create a new character in “Where Winds Meet,” the game only allows one character per account by default. To start a new character, you need to unbind your current game account (like Steam) from the game’s NetEase account, then restart the game, which will treat this as a fresh launch and allow you to create a new character.

Follow my lead:

  • Launch “Where Winds Meet” and open the settings.
  • Navigate to the “Other” tab and select Bind Account (Skip this if you have already linked the game to your NetEase account).
How to Create a New Character in Where Winds Meet
  • See the Link button next to NetEase Games? Click that and you will be taken to the NetEase website.
  • Now, you will need to create a NetEase Games account.
  • After creating an account, return to the Other tab to see the NetEase account linked.
  • You will also need to unbind the game from Steam.
  • Navigate to the Other tab and click V to bring up the Customer Service.
  • Now, select the Unbind Account option and then your Steam account.
  • Type ‘Confirm’ and restart ‘Where Winds Meet’.

If you did everything correctly, the game will no longer be linked with your previous account, and Steam will treat the launch as a fresh one, allowing you to create a new character when you launch the game again.

To switch between the two characters you’ll need to switch between the NetEase Accounts. So here’s what’s happening; you need to have one account linked at all times; be it Steam or NetEase and with each account you can have a brand-new character.

I know, this is all pretty frustrating for an RPG game. Players are complaining about this, and I hope that NetEase Gamers fixes this issue and allows us to play the game with different characters.
