Xbox’s popular subscription service has become more expensive than ever in 2025. Now priced as high as $30/month for the Ultimate tier, Game Pass does not offer the incredible value it once boasted for its millions of subscribers.
However, the content available as part of the service remains a strong suit. In fact, Game Pass saw nearly 300 titles being added in 2025 alone.

Game Pass’ library grew by 296 titles in 2025. This included nearly 20 first-party games, including the likes of Doom: The Dark Ages, Call of Duty: Black Ops 7, and more.
The service also introduced 62 day one games, including Ninja Gaiden 4, Hollow Knight: Silksong, and Clair Obscur: Expedition 33. Moreover, Microsoft added Ubisoft+ Classics to Game Pass Ultimate earlier this year, boosting the library by 46 games, including several remarkable Assassin’s Creed entries.
It should be noted that the overall figure included games that were re-added to the service this year after having been removed previously. Titles like GTA 5 were part of this category in 2025.
Miscellaneous additions included games like Mortal Kombat 1 and RoboCop: Rogue City. According to the Redditor, this year marked a notable increase in the number of games added to the subscription, with 2024 and 2023 boasting roughly 143 and 138 titles, respectively.
Because the lineup was so strong this year, many of the titles available on Game Pass also made their way to The Game Awards through nominations across various categories. In fact, Clair Obscur: Expedition 33, which set a new record at the event, became the first day-one Game Pass title to win Game of the Year at The Game Awards.
All in all, 2025 was an incredibly fruitful year for the subscription, even if price hikes impacted the general audience’s perception of Game Pass.
